Join Our Team as a Registered Dietitian
Union Plaza Care Center is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Dietitian to join our team. We are open to entry-level candidates and new graduates who are eager to begin their careers in long-term care and make a meaningful impact on resident health and wellness.
In this role, you will support high-quality nutritional care while working collaboratively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional risks
- Develop, review, and implement individualized dietary care plans using the Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS)
- Coordinate food service activities with nursing, environmental services, social services, and activities departments
- Ensure menus and therapeutic diets align with physician orders and regulatory requirements
- Supervise dietary staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and dietary records
- Participate in state and federal surveys and implement corrective actions as needed
- Provide nutritional education to residents and families
- Ensure appropriate substitute meals of equal nutritional value are provided when needed
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold residents’ rights at all times
- Attend facility meetings and interdisciplinary committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Entry-level candidates and new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and diet therapy
- Interest in long-term care, skilled nursing, and geriatric nutrition
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Experience with Sigma Care and Geri Menu is preferred but not required
Requirements
- Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Strong interest in providing quality nutritional care to residents
- Willingness to learn and grow within a skilled nursing environment
- Previous SNF or acute care experience is a plus, but not required
