Job summary

Union Plaza Care Center in Queens, NY is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our long-term care team. We welcome entry-level candidates eager to start their careers and make a meaningful impact on resident health and wellness.

You will assess residents' nutritional needs, develop individualized plans, coordinate with nursing and therapy staff, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time role, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required or equivalent.
• Entry-level candidates and new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and diet therapy.
• Interest in long-term care and geriatric nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ dietary needs and nutritional risks.

Facility: Union Plaza Care Center

Location: Queens, NY

Shift: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Salary: $40–$45 per hour

Join Our Team as a Registered Dietitian

Union Plaza Care Center is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Dietitian to join our team. We are open to entry-level candidates and new graduates who are eager to begin their careers in long-term care and make a meaningful impact on resident health and wellness.

In this role, you will support high-quality nutritional care while working collaboratively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional risks
• Develop, review, and implement individualized dietary care plans using the Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS)
• Coordinate food service activities with nursing, environmental services, social services, and activities departments
• Ensure menus and therapeutic diets align with physician orders and regulatory requirements
• Supervise dietary staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and dietary records
• Participate in state and federal surveys and implement corrective actions as needed
• Provide nutritional education to residents and families
• Ensure appropriate substitute meals of equal nutritional value are provided when needed
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold residents’ rights at all times
• Attend facility meetings and interdisciplinary committees

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Entry-level candidates and new graduates are welcome to apply
• Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and diet therapy
• Interest in long-term care, skilled nursing, and geriatric nutrition
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Experience with Sigma Care and Geri Menu is preferred but not required

Requirements

• Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
• Strong interest in providing quality nutritional care to residents
• Willingness to learn and grow within a skilled nursing environment
• Previous SNF or acute care experience is a plus, but not required
