Qualifications

Position Summary

The primary purpose of your job is to plan and deliver nutritional care to residents according to physicians’ orders and in compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Follow all health, sanitary, and infection control policies and maintain standards set by the community's administration and Dietary Policies and Procedures.

Education And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
  • Active state license as a Registered Dietitian
  • Active membership and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with supervisors, co-workers, and community staff
  • Knowledge of proper safety and sanitary techniques
  • Ability to work scheduled hours as required
  • Must not pose a health and safety threat to others
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience as a professional dietitian or dietetic technician in long-term care, or 1 year as a registered consulting dietitian in long-term care facilities
  • Continuing education to stay current with nutrition research and practices
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation fundamentals
