Job Overview:

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to patients, complying with the standards of care in the dietetic profession. This role includes medical nutrition therapy, nutritional assessment, care plans, patient visitation, diet counseling, and consultations regarding advanced nutrition support, as well as supporting other areas of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.

Qualifications:

• Registered Dietitian or RD eligible
• Completed ADA-approved internship
• Ability to read, write, and speak English (or other necessary languages)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred:

• Experience in healthcare environment

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered Dietitian

Scheduling Requirements:

• Flexible hours Monday-Friday, with a minimum of 2 weekend shifts (8 hours each with a 30-minute lunch) per month and every other holiday

Essential Functions:

• Perform nutritional assessments and screens as per policies
• Develop and monitor nutrition care plans
• Provide inpatient discharge diet instructions
• Maintain updated patient profile information
• Provide diet consultations as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to deliver quality nutrition care
