Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a qualified Per Diem Registered Dietitian in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or equivalent

Preferred:

• Master's Degree in Nutrition or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
• Newly credentialed dietitians will be considered

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift (every 4th weekend and some weekdays as needed)
• Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide medical nutritional therapy
• Identify patients at high nutritional risk based on hospital criteria
• Assess nutritional needs and determine nutrient requirements based on age and disease
• Develop and implement nutrition care plans for assigned patients
• Ensure continuity of care across all phases
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of nutritional interventions
• Educate patients and families on proper food choices and eating behaviors
• Manage delivery of nutrition care services
• Participate in performance improvement and research activities
• Supervise dietetic technicians and mentor interns/students
• Maintain professional development and competency
