Job summary

Sinai Post Acute Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the food service department, supervise dietary staff, coordinate meal preparation, and ensure meals meet nutritional needs and sanitary standards. In staffing shortages, you may directly assist in preparation and service to maintain operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to dietary guidelines, and maintaining a positive work environment in a resident-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Leadership and supervisory capability to manage dietary staff.
• Ability to follow recipes and dietary instructions.
• Strong organization and time management.
• Effective communication with residents, families and staff.
• Annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dietary staff and assigns tasks.
• Oversees meal preparation and service per schedule.
• Ensures sanitary compliance and safe work environment.
• Monitors regular and therapeutic diets per RD guidance.
• Monitors inventory and coordinates ordering.
• Trains new dietary staff on procedures and safety.
• Maintains records for production, service and scheduling.
• Supports staff performance evaluations and addresses issues.
• Follows safety codes and emergency preparedness requirements.
• Contributes to resident-centered dining experiences.
• May assist in food preparation when needed.
• Performs other duties to support operations.
