Job summary

Qualifications

• Supervises cooks and dietary aides and may serve meals when needed.
• Plans menus in consultation with a dietician and residents, using seasonal local foods.
• Keeps records and accounts; creates and maintains employee schedules.

Responsibilities

• Comply with personnel, safety, and corporate policies.
• Report abuse/neglect to Executive Director; treat residents and staff with respect.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Ensure meals follow menus and physician orders; meals are appetizing and served correctly.
• Ensure ingredients, supplies, and equipment are available for meals.
• Maintain weekly cleaning schedule and infection-control practices.
• Manage budgets and obtain approval for spending beyond budget.
• Supervise dietary department staff and participate in care plan meetings.
• Ensure residents' rights are observed and comply with regulations.
