Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved state food service supervisor course required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine quality and quantity of food; plan and prepare master menus for residents; supervise menu planning for therapeutic diets and control food costs.
• Supervise food production and service programs and staff.
• Ensure proper food preparation for nutrition and cost efficiency; maintain standardized recipes with proper yield.
• Plan menus, purchase food, and assign duties for special functions; adapt menus to resident preferences with consultant dietician.
• Check food for flavor, temperature, and appearance regularly.
• Monitor residents' nutritional status with dietician; document progress notes and care planning.
• Prepare the departmental budget on an annual basis.
• Inspect all work, storage areas regularly.
