Job summary

Apple Rehab Farmington Valley is seeking a Dietary Manager to lead the Dietary Department in Plainville, CT. The role plans, implements, and directs programs within budget and quality standards, ensuring adherence to policies and updated manuals.

The manager maintains compliance with state and federal regulations for surveys, develops staffing and organizational direction, and coordinates inter-departmental communication to address concerns and improve operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of the following: CDM Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Service Manager, certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body, or an Associates Degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification.
• Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data.
• Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.
• Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Dietary Department within approved budget and quality standards.
• Ensures that written dietary policies, procedures, and manuals are adhered to, maintained and updated.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations in preparation for state survey and makes recommendations for department operations.
• Develops organizational structure, staffing and direction within policy and budgetary guidelines and handles personnel actions.
