• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing dietary services in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Dietary Department within approved budgets and quality standards.
• Ensures written dietary policies, procedures, and manuals are adhered to and updated.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations in preparation for state survey.
• Prepares recommendations to the Administrator concerning department operations.
• Fosters inter-departmental communication and cooperation to address concerns.
• Develops organizational structure, staffing and direction within policy and budgetary guidelines.
• Authorizes necessary personnel actions affecting department staff, including hiring, evaluations, and schedules.
• Participates in continuing education and promotes staff development and transfers within Apple Rehab.
