Job summary

Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at North Strabane in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Dietary Manager (CDM). The facility will support the candidate to become appropriately certified while employed.

Responsibilities include care planning and assessment, developing dietary plans, coordinating with nursing, reviewing care plans quarterly, and ensuring staff follow the plan. Prior supervisory healthcare experience and cost control training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association required.
• Registration as a Food Service Director in Pennsylvania required.
• Minimum two years’ supervisory experience in a health care setting.
• Training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
• Previous long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform/oversee care planning & assessment functions.
• Maintain records of residents' food likes and dislikes.
• Develop preliminary and comprehensive dietary assessments for residents.
• Develop a written dietary plan of care addressing dietary problems/needs and goals.
• Encourage resident/family participation in plan of care development and review.
• Ensure dietary personnel are aware of and use the care plan in daily services.
• Review nurses’ notes to ensure care plan adherence and discuss issues with Director of Nursing.
• Identify equipment and utensils needed by residents in care plans.
• Review and revise care plans and assessments at least quarterly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform/oversee the care planning & assessment function listed below:
• Participate in maintaining records of the resident's food likes and dislikes
• Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident
• Assist in developing a written dietary plan of care that identifies the dietary problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each
• Encourage the resident/family to participate in the development and review of the residents’ plan of care
• Ensure that all dietary personnel are aware of the care plan and that care plans are used in planning daily dietary services for the resident
• Review nurses’ note to determine if the care plan is being followed. Discuss problem areas with the Director of Nursing
• Ensure that the care plan identifies any special equipment and utensils the resident may need
• Review and revise care plans and assessments as necessary, but at least quarterly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications:
