Job summary

Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at North Strabane is seeking a Dietary Manager (CDM) who will oversee the dietary department and participate in care planning for residents. The facility offers support to become a certified CDM while you work, with duties spanning assessment, care plan development, and collaboration with the care team.

Required candidates have supervisory healthcare experience and PA registration as a Food Service Director, with ADA-approved dietetics training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association.
• Registration as a Food Service Director in Pennsylvania is required.
• Minimum two years’ supervisory experience in a health care setting.
• Facility will support the candidate to become appropriately certified.
• Long-term care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform/oversee the care planning and assessment function.
• Maintain records of residents' food likes and dislikes.
• Develop preliminary and comprehensive dietary assessments.
• Create written dietary care plans identifying problems and goals.
• Encourage resident/family involvement in the care plan.
• Ensure dietary staff are aware of and use the care plan.
• Review nurses' notes to verify plan adherence with Nursing Director.
• Review and revise care plans and assessments at least quarterly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Dietary Manager, (CDM)-While it is a requirement the facility will support the candidate to become appropriately certified

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform/oversee the care planning & assessment function listed below:
• Participate in maintaining records of the resident's food likes and dislikes
• Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident
• Assist in developing a written dietary plan of care that identifies the dietary problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each
• Encourage the resident/family to participate in the development and review of the residents’ plan of care
• Ensure that all dietary personnel are aware of the care plan and that care plans are used in planning daily dietary services for the resident
• Review nurses’ note to determine if the care plan is being followed. Discuss problem areas with the Director of Nursing
• Ensure that the care plan identifies any special equipment and utensils the resident may need
• Review and revise care plans and assessments as necessary, but at least quarterly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications:

• While it is a requirement the facility will support the candidate to become appropriately certified
• Graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association required

• Registration as a Food Service Director in Pennsylvania required
• Must provide documentation of registry/certificate upon application for position.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a health care setting
• Must have training in cost control, food management, & diet therapy
• Previous long-term care experience is preferred
