Job summary

Skilled Nursing Harrisburg PA is seeking a Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead dietary services for residents in a long-term care setting. You will oversee care planning, assess dietary needs, and develop plans to meet residents' nutrition goals. Collaboration with nursing and food service teams is essential.

The role requires ADA-approved training and PA registration, with at least two years of supervisory healthcare experience and cost-control knowledge. Prior LTC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have graduate of ADA-approved dietetic training program.
• 2+ years' supervisory experience in health care.
• Training in cost control, food management and diet therapy.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform/oversee care planning and assessment functions.
• Maintain records of residents' food likes/dislikes.
• Develop preliminary and comprehensive dietary assessments.
• Develop written dietary plan of care and goals.
• Encourage resident/family participation in plan of care.
• Ensure dietary personnel follow care plans in daily services.
• Review nurses’ notes to verify care plan adherence.

• Review and revise care plans quarterly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Dietary Manager, (CDM)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform/oversee the care planning & assessment function listed below:
• Participate in maintaining records of the resident's food likes and dislikes
• Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident
• Assist in developing a written dietary plan of care that identifies the dietary problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each
• Encourage the resident/family to participate in the development and review of the residents’ plan of care
• Ensure that all dietary personnel are aware of the care plan and that care plans are used in planning daily dietary services for the resident
• Review nurses’ note to determine if the care plan is being followed. Discuss problem areas with the Director of Nursing
• Ensure that the care plan identifies any special equipment and utensils the resident may need
• Review and revise care plans and assessments as necessary, but at least quarterly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association required
• Registration as a Food Service Director in Pennsylvania required
• Must provide documentation of registry/certificate upon application for position.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a health care setting
• Must have training in cost control, food management, & diet therapy
• Previous long-term care experience is preferred
