Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in El Paso is seeking a detail-oriented Food Service Worker II to support central or satellite kitchens. You will prepare, portion and serve meals, assist with special diets, maintain sanitation, and help train junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires weekend/holiday availability, ability to lift 25 lbs, and adherence to HACCP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food preparation methods and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to prepare and serve food and maintain cleanliness.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic math used in cooking/preparation.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular/rotating shift schedules, including overtime as needed.
• Complete required training per policy.
• Assist in preparation and portioning of food for special diets.
• Prepare snacks and supplements and maintain supplies.
• Distribute food safely and process servings per procedures.
• Assist in serving food and follow food service procedures.
• Handle food in accordance with HACCP guidelines and safety standards.
• Receive deliveries and complete paperwork accurately.
• Train or assist in training new staff.
