Job summary

Villas of Holly Brook in Pekin, IL, is seeking a Dietary Director to oversee daily kitchen and dining operations for a senior living community. This full-time role involves staff supervision, budgeting, menu planning, and ensuring compliance with health codes.

Work hours range from 30 to 40 per week with an hourly wage of $18.50 to $21.50. The successful candidate will lead dietary services, manage resident and family communications, and collaborate with leadership to maintain high satisfaction

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years Dietary Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees.
• Certified Food Protection Manager or Food Safety and Sanitation Manager Certification as required by State or local law
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day to day operations and staffing for the kitchen and dining venues of their community.
• Supervises all Dietary Services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring and corrective action.
• Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels.
• Ensure front of house and back of house staff work closely together to deliver a food product that meets expectations.
• Work with Executive Director and staff to maintain Customer Satisfaction and Quality Enhancement scores.
• Delegate tasks to staff to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and dining areas.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served according to company standards and health codes.
• Interview and hire staff for the Dietary Services department.
• Maintain budgets for the Dietary Services department including monthly spend on food, supplies, and labor.
• Plan menus with staff and residents based on preferences and budgets.
• Maintain equipment properly to avoid damage and repairs.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of kitchen supplies and wares.
• Maintain purchasing standards and vendor relationships.
