Responsibilities include portion control, adapting menus for therapeutic diets, and collaborating with nursing and dietary staff to provide a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience in healthcare or similar settings preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets is a plus.
• Current Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.

You’ll work closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared safely, served on time, and provide a positive dining experience for our residents. Key Responsibilities* Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.* Ensure meals meet residents’ nutritional needs and physician-ordered diets.* Prepare and modify meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets.* Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety requirements.* Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.* Properly store, label, and rotate food items to maintain freshness and comply with food safety standards.* Assist with inventory and communicate food and supply needs to dietary leadership.* Support meal service and ensure proper portion sizes and presentation.* Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and other members of the care team.* Help ensure residents receive meals that are nutritious, appealing, and prepared according to their individual needs.
