Job summary

Staunton Post Acute & Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Cook to lead kitchen operations within the Dietary department. You will prepare and supervise meal preparation, ensuring appealing, nutritious meals for residents and compliance with dietary guidelines.

The role requires a High School diploma (preferred) or ability to read/write English, plus prior culinary experience. You will contribute to tray service, meal timing, and record-keeping in a collaborative, resident-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or ability to read and write English effectively.
• Previous culinary experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cooking a variety of foods, special diets, seasoning, times and temperatures; estimating quantities and minimizing waste.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the manager.
• Receive reports on meals for normal and special diets, and coordinate food and supply requirements.
• Adhere to special diet orders and use approved substitutions.
• Follow food production plans to ensure quality and presentation.
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals in coordination with meal times.
