Job summary

Apple Valley Health & Rehabilitation in Yakima, WA is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and oversee meals for residents, supervise dietary functions in the absence of management, and help ensure meals meet special diet orders and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma (or equivalent) and culinary experience, with a passion for nutritious, tasty dishes and waste-minimization. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma preferred or ability to read/write English effectively.
• Experience: Previous culinary experience is a plus.
• Job Knowledge: Proficient in preparing/cooking foods in larger quantities; knowledge of special diets, seasoning, times/temps; estimate quantities; minimize waste; create appetizing meals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dietary functions and personnel in absence of manager.
• Prepare/oversee preparation of meals; ensure visual appeal and flavor.
• Contribute to tray service and kitchen cleanliness; maintain organized operations.
• Keep accurate records as directed for seamless operations.
