Job summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions at Largo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a skilled dietary cook to join our team in a busy nursing facility. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, following standardized recipes and portion controls.

You will plate meals with care, support the Dietary Manager when needed, and maintain high sanitation standards. Responsibilities include inventory, stock rotation, and assisting with menu development and event catering.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook in healthcare or nursing facility.
• Ability to prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with standardized recipes and portioning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and cook a variety of nutritious meals following standardized recipes.
• Plate and garnish cooked items for an attractive presentation.
• Support the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure seamless meal prep.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and assist with purchasing and recipe development.
• Handle last-minute requests for special events and facility functions.

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented, classically trained Cook experienced in high-volume culinary operations to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility.

• Meal Preparation & Culinary Excellence: Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, and cook a variety of nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner following standardized recipes.

• Plating & Presentation: Plate and garnish all cooked items expertly to ensure an attractive menu presentation.

• Leadership Support: Act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure seamless meal prep and delivery.

• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain high sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning the kitchen and all culinary equipment before and after food service.

• Inventory & Recipe Management: Manage inventory, handle stock rotation, assist with purchasing, and ensure recipe development and compliance.

• Special Events: Flexibly handle last-minute culinary requests for special events and facility functions.
