Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred.
• Freedom from illegal use of drugs and compliance with workplace policies.
• Ability to demonstrate literacy and effective communication with staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dietary department employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
• Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work; preparing work assignment sheets.
• Managing time cards, overtime with supervisor approval.
• Oversees food handling, preparation, and serving to meet safety standards.
• Maintains clean and safe food service areas and equipment.
• Communicates with supervisor to maximize resident satisfaction.
• Attends survey training and in-service education.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

1 year cook experience in institutional setting

Literacy and basic communication
