Job summary

PruittHealth in Georgia—Blue Ridge is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with food preparation under the supervision of the Food Service/Dietary Manager. You will help ensure meals meet nutritional requirements and are served at proper temperatures, supporting resident well-being.

The role involves following dietary orders, assisting with tray service, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in a busy food service setting.

Qualifications

• One year of institutional food service experience as a cook (minimum).
• Additional qualifications include experience in Long Term Care food production.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in meal preparation, salads, desserts, and between-meal nourishments.
• Follow diet orders and NPO diet orders.
• Serve nourishments in accordance with guidelines.
• Properly store leftovers and opened food.
• Follow procedures for serving partner meals and record substitutions.
• Comply with infection control policies in the work area.
• Deliver trays to patients/residents on halls and in dining area.
• Assist with serving and pouring beverages; prepare coffee/tea as requested.
• Clean tables in the dining area after meals.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment; sweep and mop as needed.
• Maintain temperatures for freezer and walk-in refrigerators; monitor with procedures.
• Maintain dishwasher and dish sink; monitor water temperature and sanitizer levels.
• Maintain supply stock and proper storage of items.
• Set up tray line and perform tray line service.
• Operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain serving equipment and utensils.
• Understand food handling and storage per state/federal regulations.
