Job description

Job Title: Food Service Worker

Shift Times: 5AM-1PM, 11AM-8PM

Responsibilities include preparing menu items according to established standards, serving meals attractively and at proper temperatures, and implementing proper cleaning and food handling procedures to ensure optimal infection control.

Essential Duties
  1. Perform job duties safely, adhering to physical, sensory, and mental requirements.
  2. Read menus and recipes, review meal preparation steps with the Director of Food & Nutrition Services.
  3. Prepare menu items following established standards, recipes, and proper techniques.
  4. Determine quantities needed, prepare substitutes for individual needs, and serve meals as per portion sizes on the menu.
  5. Cover, date, label leftovers, and store them properly.
  6. Follow security routines and infection control protocols, using protective equipment as needed.
  7. Supervise food service staff in the absence of the Director or Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services.
  8. Receive and check deliveries against invoices when the Director or Assistant Director is unavailable.
  9. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, including floors, walls, equipment, and utensils. Perform dishwashing duties as required.
