Join us as a Cook at Church's Chicken PR located at 7529 1st Ave. N, Birmingham, AL 35206.

Reports To (Title): Restaurant General Manager

Department: Field Operations

Job Objective: To prepare and cook food products according to the specifications and procedures outlined in the Church's Operating Standards Manual (OSM), ensuring tasks are completed in a timely, clean, and orderly manner.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Set up batter station, gather necessary smallwares, and prepare batter mix.
  • Ensure call sheets are complete, posted, and utilized effectively.
  • Check all equipment and report malfunctions immediately to the Manager in Charge.
  • Balance fryer oil levels, add shortening as needed, and maintain proper levels.
  • Filter and clean fryers at designated times following safety guidelines.
  • Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
  • Prepare and cook food as directed by the Manager in Charge, meeting quality standards and specifications.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness by practicing 'clean-as-you-go' and following sanitation protocols.
  • Verify stock levels and availability of products and supplies at the batter station.
  • Keep the cooler organized and clean.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager in Charge.
Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for up to 8 hours, and perform physical tasks including climbing, reaching, stooping, and handling various items.
