Job summary

Plum City Care Center in Wisconsin is seeking a full-time Dietary Cook to prepare and serve family-style meals for residents in a skilled nursing facility. The role includes assisting in directing non-supervisory staff in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

Qualifications

• Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
• One-year institutional food service experience as a cook preferred.

The Dietary Cook’s primary duties include preparing and cooking family style meals for residents of skilled nursing facility. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of non-supervisory employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
• One-year institutional food service experience as a cook preferred.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition to supervisor or nurse.
