Dietary Cook Job Summary:
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparingand providing food services to residents in a cost-efficient manner to safelymeet residents’ need in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Dietary Cook MajorDuties and Critical Tasks:
1. Prepare and serve meals for residents andstaff in accordance with food safety regulations and withinphysician’s/nutritionists’ dietary recommendations
2. Maintain high standard of food preparation,sanitation, storage, and portion control
3. Determine food and supplies needed for dailymenus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production
4. Plan food production to coordinate with mealserving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved
5. Assist in scheduled cleaning duties followingestablished sanitary standards

Dietary Cook OtherDuties:
o Participates and assists in departmentalstudies and projects as assigned or as may become necessary.
o Represents the facility at and participatesin meetings as required
o Assists in standardizing work methods.
