Responsibilities

Essential (Primary) Functions: The primary responsibility of the Cook is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Responsibilities include following recipes and production sheets to prepare, season, cook, taste, carve, and serve soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs. The role involves operating kitchen equipment, measuring ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish. The Cook may also taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, assess production needs, and requisition supplies and equipment. Additional duties include preparing baked items, moving/lifting food supplies, and preparing meals for customers requiring special diets. The Cook must clean and sanitize work stations and equipment, and adhere to all safety and food handling requirements of UFHCF, local, state, and federal jurisdictions.

Non-essential duties may include filling in for other positions within the department and other duties assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Manager. This is a Full Time, Variable Shift position. Must be willing to work weekends and is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications
