Job summary

Serenity Spring Senior Living at Jasper Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Cook (PM shift). The candidate must work well in a fast-paced environment and supervise support staff on duty.

Responsibilities include preparing meals per sanitary regulations, enforcing safety and infection control, and assisting with daily cleaning and storage duties to keep the kitchen clean and compliant.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• SERVESAFE Certification required.
• Cooking background in long-term care facility and/or culinary education.
• Knowledge of food sanitation and batch cooking.
• Long-Term Care cooking experience required: 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
• Ensure safety regulations and precautions are followed by all personnel.
• Follow infection control policies during daily tasks.
• Assist and direct daily or scheduled cleaning duties.
• Maintain a clean and safe department with proper equipment and supplies.
• Report hazardous conditions or equipment to the Food Service Director.
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean, orderly manner.

The Serenity Spring Senior Living at Jasper Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Cook Candidate must be able to work in fast paced environment and supervise support staff.

Responsibilities of Cook/ Supervisor:

• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures
• Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel
• Follow established Infection Control Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks
• Assist and direct daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Food Service Director immediately
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times

Requirements of Cookr:

• High School Graduate/ High school or equivalent
• SERVESAFE Certified
• Cooking background in long-term care facility and /or Culinary Education
• Knowledge of food sanitation and batch cooking
• Long-Term Care Cooking Required: 1 year
