Job summary

The Homestead at Montrose is seeking a Dietary Assistant to assist in food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in a compassionate healthcare setting.

This PRN position offers shift options from 6am–2:30pm and 11:30pm–6:30pm, with benefits including insurance, retirement planning, paid time off, and opportunities for growth. Join a mission-driven team committed to resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Attends required in-services and completes assigned online modules.
• Follows reporting procedures for the following: Observed resident concerns, Supply and equipment needs, Damaged, unsafe, malfunctioning equipment, Conditions related to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin.

Pay Range: $18.62 - $21.03 per hour, based on experience and status!

Schedule: This is a PRN opening (on-call/casual/as-needed); shift times will be 6am - 2:30pm and 11:30pm - 6:30pm
