Job summary

Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, CO is seeking a dedicated Dietary Director to lead the Food and Nutrition Services team. You will ensure high-quality meal programs, oversee menus, staff, and budgets, and align operations with state and federal regulatory requirements.

The role requires a qualified dietitian or related nutrition degree with long-term care food service experience. Strong computer skills and a focus on resident well-being are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Qualified Dietitian, or nutrition-related Bachelor’s Degree, or state-approved food service management course (CDM or Dietary Technician).
• Experience with food preparation in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality food service in accordance with State and Federal regulations to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Manage staffing, purchasing, food preparation and delivery within budget and policy.
• Plan and develop resident menus in conjunction with dietary consultant; adjust for preferences and seasonal availability.
• Ensure compliance with residents’ rights and facility regulations.

Salary Range: $60k - $69k annually (based on experience).

Schedule: M-F and occasional weekends; and on-call

What You Bring (Requirements)

• Qualified Dietitian, or other nutrition-related Bachelor’s Degree, or successful completion of state-approved food service management course (Certified Dietary Manager or Dietary Technician).
• Experience with food preparation in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

The Dietary Director provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents. To manage the operation of the Food and Nutrition Services department to include staffing, department purchasing, food preparation, food delivery and clean-up in accordance with facility policies, physician orders, resident care plans and appropriate regulations.

• Oversees Food and Nutrition Services department and ensures department is meeting the highest standard attainable in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
• Directs and oversees all resident nutritional needs planning and programs.
• Administers personnel function of the Food and Nutrition Department.
• Plans, develops and executes facility and individual resident menus in conjunction with Dietician Dietary Consultant in accordance with State and Federal regulations; implements substitutions of menu items dependent upon seasonal availability, individual preferences and principles of economy.
• Oversees all department purchasing and maintains set budgets for the fiscal year.
• Understand, comply with and promote all rules regarding residents’ rights.
