Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Dietetic Assistant to perform a range of food service duties across patient trays, cafeteria service, and dish rooms. The role emphasizes sanitation, quick service, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a Food Handlers card (or within 30 days). Training for PIC is provided, with a 40-hour work week in a hospital kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain a Food Handlers card within 30 days as required by County DHHR.
• PIC training provided through the County Health Department.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas per task assignment, maintain sanitizer strength.
• Set up area, restock, and keep areas clean and organized.
• Produce attractive, quality food and beverage items in batch production.
• Follow menu cycles, standard recipes, and FIFO for leftovers.
• Greet customers and serve them efficiently while focusing on service.
• Address complaints politely and seek management assistance when needed.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards per departmental policies.
• Document temperatures of refrigerators and dish machines; notify management of equipment issues.
