Job summary

Wheeling Hospital, Inc. is seeking a dedicated cook for our patient and staff meals program. You will prepare foods for patients, employees and visitors, follow recipes, handle portioning, and maintain sanitation standards in a fast-paced hospital kitchen.

The role requires a minimum of one year cooking experience, a current Food Handlers card or ability to obtain one within 30 days, and PIC training as provided. Schedule: 32 hours weekly on site in Wheeling, WV.

Qualifications

• 1 year cooking experience.
• Food handlers card or within 30 days of hire.
• PIC training provided through County Health Department.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes all work areas for food production.
• Sets up bars and lines.
• Restocks, cleans and straightens as necessary.
• Gathers ingredients efficiently according to recipe, checking coolers for leftovers and plans for use.
• Follows menu cycle, proper portions and standardized recipes; uses leftovers with first in, first out.
