Job summary

Horizons Care Center, part of Volunteers of America National Services, is hiring a part-time Dietary Assistant to provide quality food service to residents in a warm, mission-driven setting.

This role requires reading and following dietary procedures, basic math for recipes, and safe operation of dietary equipment. Pay ranges $17.40-$19.65 per hour; schedule is 25 hours per week with days and times varying.

Qualifications

• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Coordination and dexterity for preparing food and operating dietary equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents.
• Assist in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Management Team and/or Cook.
