Job summary

Horizons Care Center, part of VOANS, is seeking a Dietary Assistant to deliver high-quality food service and meet residents' nutritional needs in a compassionate setting.

This paid opportunity offers a 25-hour work week with days and times varying, and a pay range of $17.40 to $19.65 per hour based on experience.

• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Management Team and/or Cook.

What You Bring (Requirements)

• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Coordination and dexterity for preparing food and operating dietary equipment safely.

What You'll Be Responsible For

The Dietary Assistant role is to provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents.

• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Management Team and/or Cook.
