Job summary

The Homestead at Montrose, a VOANS community, is seeking a Dietary Assistant to join our team in Montrose, CO on a PRN basis. You will assist in food preparation, serve meals, and help maintain a clean, compliant dining environment for residents.

We offer competitive pay from $18.62 to $21.03 per hour, with shifts from 6am–2:30pm or 11:30pm–6:30pm. This is a great opportunity in a supportive, mission-driven setting with room for growth.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Attends required in-services and completes assigned online modules.
• Follows reporting procedures for observed resident concerns, supply and equipment needs, and damaged or unsafe equipment.

Pay Range: $18.62 - $21.03 per hour, based on experience and status!
Schedule: This is a PRN opening (on-call/casual/as-needed); shift times will be 6am - 2:30pm and 11:30pm - 6:30pm

  • Observed resident concerns.
  • Supply and equipment needs.
  • Damaged, unsafe, malfunctioning equipment.
  • Conditions related to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin.
