Job summary

Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is seeking a Dietary Aide to support food service operations and resident nutrition. The role features multiple shifts, including day and evening, with full-time and part-time employment options.

A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered and wages start at $14 per hour, determined during interview. Responsibilities include reviewing menus, ensuring correct dietary trays, coordinating with the Dietician and other supervisors, completing required forms, and maintaining dietary

Qualifications

• Dietary aide experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow menus and dietary guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect special diet trays for accuracy.
• Submit forms and reports to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments.
• Work with Dietician, Dietetic Technician and Supervisors as needed.
• Ensure dietary procedures follow established policies.
• Assist in creating and maintaining food service production timelines.
• Process diet changes requested by Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures and ensure utensils are ready for next meal.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies.

Dietary Aide Job Duties:

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc., as necessary.
