Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in meal service and preparation for patients and staff at our nursing center in Longview, Texas. You will follow center procedures, assist cooks, and help with labeling nourishments and beverages.

You will be expected to read and understand English, communicate effectively, and uphold sanitation, organization and safety standards. Prior experience in food service and long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• The dietary aide candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation guidelines.

Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate
