Job summary

PACS is hiring a Dietary Aide to support kitchen operations and meal service. The role reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor. You will learn the routine quickly, prepare nourishments, set up trays, and assist with serving while upholding sanitation standards.

Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma or equivalent and must obtain a food handlers’ certificate. You will work in a low-to-moderate noise environment with opportunities for training and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must read technical procedures.
• Must read and follow recipes.
• Ability to present information to managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays for service.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine.
• Observe dishwasher temperatures during cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen.
• Handle trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely and neatly.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
• Collaborate with personnel across departments.
