Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and kitchen operations. The role involves learning food service routines, setting up trays, washing dishes, serving meals, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read procedures/recipes, and a food handlers' certificate. Starting pay is $18/hr, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information to managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Wash dishes after meals.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with staff across departments.
