Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service in our facility. The role reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor and involves learning routines quickly, setting up meal trays, cleaning, serving meals, and assisting with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and will obtain a food handler certificate. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, follow recipes, read procedures, and work cooperatively with staff across departments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and be of assistance when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff.
• Ability to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments.
