Job summary

HERITAGE TRAILS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support daily meal service in our kitchen. You will learn routines quickly, set up meal trays, assist with serving, and help maintain a clean, sanitary environment.

Responsibilities include operating the dishwasher, checking chlorine and water temperature, preparing nourishments, and assisting with training of dietary staff while cooperating with all departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and maintain floors.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Wash and store groceries.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
