Job summary

LionStone Care is seeking a full-time Dietary Assistant at Hawthorn Glen Care Community in Middletown, OH. You will assist in meal preparation and service for residents, following dietary guidelines and portion control.

Responsibilities include dietary compliance, sanitation, inventory, and coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely meals. Prior food service or healthcare experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in food service or healthcare preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, including special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or gluten-free.
  • Ensure that food is served in an attractive and timely manner, following portion control and resident preferences.
  • Prepare food trays, deliver meals to residents or patients, and assist with food delivery to common areas or individual rooms as needed.
  • Follow dietary instructions for residents or patients with specific medical needs, ensuring that meals meet their nutritional requirements.
  • Ensure proper portion sizes and follow meal plans to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and facility policies to ensure a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service.
  • Ensure that kitchen and dining areas meet local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining and restocking food supplies, condiments, and utensils as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify the dietary supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, patients, and families, responding to questions and special requests promptly and courteously.
  • Help residents and patients with meal-related needs, such as serving beverages, providing additional utensils, or addressing dietary concerns.
  • Work closely with cooks, dietary supervisors, and other kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of meal service.
  • Assist with kitchen duties, including food preparation and setup for meals.

Key Responsibilities
