Job summary

The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO is hiring full-time Dietary Aides to support daily kitchen operations and meal service for our healthcare community. You will help with meal service, food safety, and resident dining needs with a focus on friendly, respectful service.

This role operates within our health center kitchen from 5:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with weekend shifts. Eligible full-time staff receive benefits, including medical coverage, retirement options, time off, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Strong time management abilities.
• Attention to detail in food prep and service.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Dietary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal service and support residents with dining needs
• Help maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas
• Wash dishes by hand or with a dishwasher
• Assist with food receiving, storage, labeling and rotation
• Sort and manage trash and waste in designated areas
• Prepare, portion and serve regular and modified diets
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control and safety guidelines
• Provide respectful care to residents, families, and coworkers

The Lutheran Home is looking for Full-time Dietary Aides to work within our health center kitchen. This position supports the daily operations of the kitchen and meal services for our healthcare community while providing friendly, respectful service to residents, families, and coworkers while upholding our values of Service, Excellence, Dignity, Fulfillment, Grace, and Stewardship .

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal service, including food running, bussing tables, and support residents with their dining needs
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area
• Wash dishes by hand or using the dishwasher
• Assist with food receiving, storage, labeling, and rotation
• Sort and remove trash and put in the designated areas
• Prepare, portion, and serve regular and modified diets
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, and safety guidelines
• Provide care and respectful service to resident, families, and coworkers

Our kitchen operates from 5:30 AM – 7:00 PM. Full-time schedules are available within the kitchen’s operating hours and include weekend shifts.
