Job summary

The Lutheran Home is seeking a Full-time Cook to join our healthcare community. You will prepare a variety of menu items for regular and modified diets, following standardized recipes and guidelines while upholding our values of Service, Excellence, Fulfillment, Grace, and Stewardship.

You’ll work in a team that prioritizes compassionate care and quality meals. Responsibilities include large-quantity cooking, portion control, temperature monitoring, and assisting residents with meal choices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in food preparation, with an emphasis on large quantity cooking preferred.
• Institutional cooking experience is desired.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items in large quantities for regular and modified diets.
• Follow standardized recipes, ensure quality, consistency, and attractive presentation.
• Assist residents and families with placing orders on tablets or meal cards.
• Serve food in proper portions and monitor temperatures.
• Receive, store, rotate, label and date food products per guidelines.
• Assist with stocking, cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining kitchen areas.
• Support other kitchen duties and shift to other positions as needed.
• Follow all food safety standards and maintain a clean environment.

The Lutheran Home is looking for a Full-time Cook to join our healthcare community. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Prepare menu items in large quantities for regular and modified diets
• Follow standardized recipes and ensure quality, consistency, and attractive presentation of food
• Assist residents and families with placing orders on tablets or meal cards
• Serve food in proper portions and monitor food temperatures
• Receive, store, rotate, label, and date food products according to guidelines
• Assist with stocking, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas
• Support other kitchen duties and shift to additional positions and/or locations as needed
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards while maintaining a clean and orderly environment
