Job summary

The Lutheran Home is seeking a Full-time Cook to join our healthcare community. You will prepare a variety of menu items, follow standardized recipes, and ensure proper portioning for regular and modified diets.

Working in a team, you will support dining services and contribute to a culture of service and excellence. Responsibilities include preparing large quantities, maintaining safety and quality, assisting residents with meal orders, and upholding high standards of cleanliness and sanitation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in food preparation, with emphasis on large quantity cooking.
• Institutional cooking experience is desired.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items in large quantities for regular and modified diets.
• Follow standardized recipes and ensure quality, consistency, and attractive presentation of food.
• Assist residents and families with placing orders on tablets or meal cards.
• Serve food in proper portions and monitor food temperatures.
• Receive, store, rotate, label, and date food products according to guidelines.
• Assist with stocking, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Support other kitchen duties and shift to additional positions and/or locations as needed.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards while maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

The Lutheran Home is looking for a Full-time Cook to join our healthcare community.
