Job summary

Marlora Post Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist kitchen staff with preparing and serving meals to residents, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Role hours are 6:00AM-2:30PM; responsibilities include following dietary requirements, adhering to food safety guidelines, and supporting the Cook and Dietary Manager to ensure quality meals for residents. Qualified candidates demonstrate teamwork and reliable, patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, and instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines; Food Handlers Certification
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and cooking
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary requirements and portion control
• Follow menus and prepare food items as directed by the Cook or Dietary Manager
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas as assigned on cleaning schedule
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
