Job summary

Torrance Post Acute is seeking a Dietary Aide to join our care team in a skilled nursing facility. You will assist kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals to residents, while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

This role requires the ability to read and follow menus, support dietary requirements, and follow food safety guidelines. Prior experience in food service or healthcare is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth within our organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, and instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, Food Handlers Certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and cooking
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary requirements and portion control
• Follow menus and prepare food items as directed by the Cook or Dietary Manager
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas as assigned on cleaning schedule
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
