Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in food preparation and meal service for residents. You will maintain sanitary kitchen and dining areas under the supervision of the Dietary Director and support daily operations.

Experience in hospital or long-term care dietary departments is preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills are essential to ensure high-quality resident meals and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as required or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care dietary department preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong teamwork and alignment with company objectives.
• Customer service oriented with ability to work under pressure.
• Detail oriented with strong organization and multi‑tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet requirements and work in the described environment.
• Identify process improvements to enhance workflow and resident experience.
• Assist in preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
• Check trays for menu and diet accuracy and preferences.
• Set up trays and deliver meals to residents.
• Operate serving lines and prepare general and modified diet trays as directed.
• Deliver loaded food carts and return empty carts to dish area.
• Collect soiled trays and utensils for cleaning.
• Wash dishes and clean equipment, dining areas, and surfaces.
• Stock and store food items; assist with inventory and supplies.
• Report hazards, accidents, or incidents as necessary.
