Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a reliable Dietary Aide to assist in food preparation and meal service for residents. You will help ensure meals meet menu and diet requirements and deliver trays to residents with accuracy and courtesy.

In this role you will maintain sanitary kitchen and dining areas, support the Dietary Director, and participate in inventory and stock of food items. Experience in healthcare dietary requirements is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care facility dietary department preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well within a team and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
• Set up trays and deliver meals to residents.
• Check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy.
• Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
• Stock and store food items; assist in inventorying and receiving supplies.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and incidents as necessary.
