Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in food preparation, serve meals, and maintain sanitary kitchen and dining areas under the Dietary Director. The role includes stock control, tray setup, and delivering meals to residents in a facility setting.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and strong English communication. Healthcare experience is preferred; candidates should be reliable, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently within a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care dietary department preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Highest level of professionalism with confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and work in a team.
• Customer service oriented with ability to work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.
• Adaptable to new tasks and changes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
• Check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy.
• Set up trays and deliver meals to residents.
• Prepare serving line with foods, condiments and utensils.
• Work on central tray service line and modified diet trays as directed.
• Deliver loaded carts and return empty ones to dish area.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment and surfaces.
