Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals using portion control directives.
• Ensure proper thawing, storage, and preparation of foods.
• Review menus and collaborate with the Director of Nutrition and Food Services.
• Operate equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and reporting issues.
• Record temperatures and food substitutions as required.
• Maintain cleaning schedules, proper food labeling, and inventory.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ensure foods are garnished and stored accurately.
• Participate in quality assurance and other departmental tasks.

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Physical ability to reach, stand, walk, sit, lift, push, and perform related tasks.
• Knowledge of quantity and quality cooking, portion control, and modified diets.
• Familiarity with food ordering, health regulations, and safety protocols.
• Must be free of contagious infections and wear gloves when handling lesions or cuts.
